Pumpkin in Medicinal use

Posted on February 17th, 2008 in Health, Nature Cure by admin

Pumpkin can be used as medicine in many ways. Here I just want to share some of ways through which you can use pumpkin as medicine and also the nutritional importance of pumpkin. Pumpkins are very high in potassium and sodium. They are a fair source of vitamins B and C. Pumpkin juice is very useful in cases of sunstroke, heat stroke, acidity, and liver troubles. It keeps the body cool during hot summer months.

Pumpkin juice is often applied externally on the face to remove dirt, black spots, and to make the skin soft and lovely. Pumpkin seed is rich in zinc, calcium and B vitamins. The oil and seeds are used to treat the prostate gland. It is used to destroy parasites (worms) in the intestinal tract.

Pumpkin can be used as medicine in the following ways:

1. Pumpkin seeds and onions mixed together with a little soymilk and honey, taken daily for a week, makes a great remedy for parasites worms in the digestive tract.

2. Juice of fresh ripe pumpkin taken regularly helps to get rid of kidney stones.

3. Cooked pumpkin eaten daily in the diet, prevents cancers.

4. A poultice of raw pumpkin pulp is good for migraine headaches.

    Sir,
yours is a very good website, useful to get good health through juices. I would like to know how much quantity of PUMPKIN JUICE can be taken everyday, and for how many days it can be taken. Should I remove the upper layer of pumpkin, before removing juice in juicer.

    Thanx and Regards.
